Could a state abolish marriage altogether? (You’re on your own!) That’d test the “right to marry.” Useful hypthetical wapo.st/1eMrvsR

@kausmickey Yes, thay could. But they would still have to honor contracts.
@kausmickey I think it will happen, yes. You will see a stripped down system in some states.
@kausmickey They wouldn’t be abolishing it. Just not issuing “licenses”. Marriage would go on, but in churches. Where it belongs.
@kausmickey And why not abolish it? You don’t need “license” to have children, get divorced, adopt…. WTF is govt mixing in for anyway?
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek men buying women a diamond ring is a relic from a patriarchal era of male dominance & prejudice against gays..
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek there never was any good argument FOR same-sex marriage…only reasons to not have government license anybody
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek if marriage is everything then it’s nothing & reason for marriage was to institutionalize heterosexual monogamy
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek the reason for institutionalizing heterosexual monogamy is so people would know who fathers of the babies were
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek there is no public purpose for government to endorse, license or promote homosexual monogamy at all..who cares?
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek in fact, calling same sex marriage a “right” is the opposite of government being “neutral” about homosexuality.
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek marriage is itself a form of discrimination where people form couples which exclude and forsake all others.
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek and how can people think that different race marriage and same sex marriage are similar? different versus same
@kausmickey @FriedrichHayek same sex marriage is about SAMENESS not “diversity”. It’s homosexuals who discriminate against ” the other”
