@kausmickey looking for success stories of protectionist policies helping unskilled workers (versus trade hurting)–any good examples?
@kausmickey They have H1B to finish off the skilled next.
@johnahare @kausmickey Countervailing tariffs often help targeted industries and companies incl their unskilled workers, eg Harley in 1980s
@rfrileyjr @kausmickey thanks!
@kausmickey But is proper response restriction of trade, or is it expansion of tax EIC? 3rd World poverty greatly reduced by trade with U.S.
.@kausmickey Jack of all trades!
@kausmickey in fact manufacturing jobs (skilled labor) shipped overseas >> that decimates the US economy and declines kills the labor force
@kausmickey @ArmorCavSpin @JamesFallows @Dealfatigue you can’t force ppl to care about feeding themselves as long as they eat for free
@Lost94133 @kausmickey @ArmorCavSpin @JamesFallows that’s just a convenient fallacy. Just look at the quality of life in Stockholm v. Rio.
