i have to say I’m a lifelong republican who has been torn over trump. i think he could be a positive influence on the party getting it to recognize a lot of the things they’ve been missing in the real world that have been burying the working class and destroying social cohesion. my concern has been personal qualities and temperament, and he lost my vote over this one. its just so petty. i understand the whole game theory tit for tat strategy and it mostly serves him well, but getting bogged down in stuff like this and fighting anyone who crosses him and not letting some just go, like the khans, is just too much for me to vote for. i told everyone who would listen that if trump could show he was stable and had just a little discipline like he did in his convention speech he was going to win, but i wasn’t sure he could do that. unfortunately i think we now know the answer to that.
