if we agree, as i think we do, that a) rubio would be the presidential nominee right now had he not embraced amnesty and b) that he is dying to run for president again in 2020, then isn’t his obvious play to come out strongly against amnesty in next congress saying “i learned my lesson” to build street cred. the donors will rally around him anyway to keep a trump or cruz type from winning in a divided field like this time
