The key for me is whether Rinaldi said, in response to the Italian immigrants assertion from, that “Italian immigrants love their country”. (see mid article of https://www.texasobserver.org/texas-republican-sb-4-protesters-capitol-ice/)
By saying that, he asserts that hispanics do not and THAT is clearly insensitive to say on Memorial Day of all days when Texas, other states, and even France there are thousands of hispanic heritage soldiers buried and many more alive to feel slighted by that remark. I dont condone what the gallery attempted to do to Rep. Rinaldi, but I could see myself being set off by that particular snide remark.
