It’s @Politico vs. @Axios–Axios says “the bullet’s in the chamber.” But stories not that contradictory: WH is a) obsessed with optics, not how many are getting in b) being pushed by “progressives and the immigration advocacy community” c) still hoping it’s ‘pass Lankford’ blame… https://t.co/wSzhHrIYzE https://t.co/PS7gCUBC8K

If I were a paranoid Republican, I’d wonder:
1) Mightn’t some liberal Republicans simply cross the aisle to give Dems control.
2) Mightn’t some very wealthy Ukraine supporters start offering exasperated GOP representatives lucrative private sector jobs? https://t.co/9zJ76cRiPq— Mickey Kaus (@kausmickey)

I also know friends who worked for him in the Senate who respected him as a decent retail poll — and in the campaign appearances I witnessed in 2000 that’s what he was, lingering for hours with voters. But that’s not the Biden we’re getting now. Was he driven mad by Meachamism?

If Biden does it, it may well be for show — ie. he’ll still sluice migrants in via direct “parole” flights and at “ports of entry.” But it also might work (to reelect him)–especially if pro-immigration activists make a big fuss in protest. https://t.co/asr2HtGeoP
